Over in Paris, as the Chanel box opened and out marched the models amidst a fog-shrouded forest on a bed of smoldering volcanic earth, Beauty Editors around the world (and Chanel nail fans) are tearing their eyes away from the mesmerising designs of Karl Lagerfeld, and on to the work of Creative Director of Makeup, Peter Phillips.

Catching glimpses of metallic drops swaying back and forth and peering out from fingerless gloves and pockets, is the latest nail shade creation from Mr Phillips, announced yesterday as Graphite.


Whilst similar comparisons can me made to Black Pearl, Graphite is said to have more of an iridescent quality in which it appears a green-gold and shimmering pewter all in one, much lighter and even brighter that last season's Black Pearl.
