Chanel Le Vernis

Whether you're a classic red, a neutral nude, or a lover of anything in particulière, Chanel's creative director for makeup, Peter Phillips, has you covered (your nails that is).

Chanel Le Vernis in Rouge Fatale is the latest Chanel nail shade, spotted on the Fall 2010 Haute Couture runway in Paris on July 6. The colour is said to hit Australian counters in September, just in time to paint the town red for Spring/Summer - a perfect compliment to those neutral and earthy tones as seen on the runway at Rosemount Australia Fashion Week and around the globe.

In the meantime, to give you your limited edition fix, two new colours will be released next month, Chanel Le Vernis in Jade Rose and Paradoxal.

Overshadowed by it's release last September alongside sibling Jade (the mint green from Fall 09), is Jade Rose. The creamy dusty nude pink is making a comeback with its re-release as part of the Les Contrastes de Chanel Fall 2010 collection. If you're not a bold-coloured-nail-kinda-gal I strongly suggest this shade. I'm picturing rocking this as a Jade Rose mani/Nouvelle Vague (turquoise) pedi combo this Summer. The perfect compliment to the pretty pastel/sorbet trend.

Debuting next month, alongside Jade Rose, is Chanel Le Vernis in Paradoxal - said to be the violet sibling to Particulière (the putty grey-taupe shade from Spring 2010). If you missed out on Particulière, or you're just a fan of the shade, I highly recommend the violet purple grey Paradoxal (being dubbed "groilet"), to fill the void, or as a new taupe-change.
